Greater London Volunteering (GLV) AGM and civil society Networking event
We would like to thank all of you who attended the GLV AGM and civil society networking event last week. Over 25 different organisations attended the event which primarily focused on how to capture and utilise data. London Plus … coming soon!
The GLV AGM also gave us a great opportunity to offer attendees a sneak peek of our brand new London Plus logo! We are really pleased that our website and branding is starting to take shape now and can’t wait to share this with you at our launch event.

As part of the #BehindEveryGreatCity campaign, the Mayor of London wants to recognise the invaluable contributions women make to local communities. You are able to nominate the amazing women in your community via the GLA’s online platform.
The Foundation for Social Improvement webinars
FSI offer a wide variety of low-cost face-to-face training, webinars and online resources for small and local charities. Take a look at their programme of webinars with sessions such as developing your fundraising strategy and demonstrating impact.
Sheila McKechnie foundation: influencing change programme
Take the next step in your campaigning career with @SMKcampaigners 5-day advanced training for London-based campaigners. Developing employer-supported volunteering (ESV) programme for your own staff
Tower Hamlets Volunteer Centre and the Wellcome Trust are delivering an interactive and jam-packed session on the advantages, challenges and practicalities of implementing an ESV programme into your organisation. Book your ticket online for free if you are a voluntary organisation based in Tower Hamlets, or £60 if you are based outside the borough.
Richmond CVS: Managing difficult volunteer related situations
If your beneficiaries are based in Richmond, this free training will be invaluable for volunteer coordinators in learning how to manage difficult situations and to share practical learning with fellow volunteer coordinators. Funding
Digital leadership fund
The Digital Leadership Fund aims to improve the digital capability of civil society leaders through training so they are able to confidently embed digital practices in their organisations. Applicants are able to apply online for £10,000 – £ 170,000 by 7th December.
EU settlement scheme grants: early engagement
Does your organisation support vulnerable EU residents applying for the EU settlement scheme? The Home Office has announced up to £9 million of grant funding to be awarded in FY19/20 to multiple bidders of small and large voluntary and community support organisations. Keep a lookout as the fund is expected to open to wider competition at the end of November.
