Kickstarting ‘Qualitative Data Essentials’ with the Volunteer Centre Network

This month we kickstarted the new ‘Qualitative Data Essentials’ training series at the Volunteer Centre Network. The session saw the group use Microsoft Excel to code hilarious TripAdvisor reviews. Not only was the day enjoyable but the group also learned how qualitative data could be applied to challenges faced by their organisations. £33m impact investing experiment
Six ambitious community partnerships, including Southwark, have been given the go-ahead to join a £33m experiment that aims to turn around their fortunes through a mix of grants, enterprise and investment. Of the £33m invested, £25m will be to enable local charities and social enterprises to access loans and other investment products to help grow their enterprise activity.Cultivation Local Inclusive Growth: In Practice
New Local Government Network has published a report on inclusive growth, illustrating how local authorities can pursue strategies which promote opportunities for all communities to prosper. This includes fostering relationships with the VCS.Youth Voice in Barnet – 1000’s of Young People want their voices heard!
Young Barnet Foundation are carrying out a very exciting piece of research with young people in Barnet. They have had nearly 7,000 responses to their survey aiming to collecting the voices of Young People and their thoughts and ideas on participation, shaping local services and influencing strategic thinking. They are looking for pro bono support in the following areas:

  • Assist with the report preparation/design/PR
  • Bringing the launch event to the attention of decision makers
  • Help with the Data sharing – experts particularly needed in Power Bi
